2022 Sparse Ikea Vintage Inspired Farmhouse Christmas Tree and Rustic Tree Collar
Hi Friends!
Happy Wednesday!
Today I'm looking forward to sharing this year's Christmas Tree!
This year I am decorating our Ikea sparse Christmas tree. I love this tree and the texture of it's branches. It looks so real.
I wanted to keep it relatively simple given our tree is quite sparse. So I chose just a few types of decorations. Predominately I used lots of baubles in differing sizes. I even stepped out of my comfort zone and added a bit colour.
I found my colour theme inspiration from some vintage glass baubles I purchased online last year.
Then I used the original vintage baubles, mixed in with new baubles of similar colours.
The colours I used were a lime green, emerald green, amber, rusty orange, gold, silver and clear.
I also added some cute tan coloured tartan ribbon bows.
And nestled lots of natural pinecones amongst the branches.
Our tree incorporates lots of vintage colours together with earthy tones.
To complete the look I wrapped warm white fairy lights around the branches.
I also decided to give our metal tree collar a makeover this year to make it look rusty and aged.
It just looked too shiny. I had done a white wash a few years ago but it just wasn't the look I wanted.
So I grabbed my acrylic paints and mixed up a gorgeous shade of rusty brown orange.
Then I painted it on over the raised edges of the collar randomly to represent rust.
And I must say it turned out awesome! I now love our tree collar.
I'm still I the process of putting up the rest of our decorations, but I do enjoy doing bits and pieces of an evening while the tree lights are twinkling.
It's definitely starting to look a lot like Christmas at our place.
It's beautiful! I love the simplicity and adore your color scheme. Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteThanks Laura! Merry Christmas to you too! Not long now. :)
