Canvas & Burlap Birdie!
I saw one of these cute little birds in a shop and knew I could make my own for a fraction of the price. And I was right. :)
I grabbed myself some paper and drew out a bird and bird wing shape.
After cutting them out and making a few moderations, I laid them down
on some spare canvas fabric I had and cut out my birdie.
After sewing him together, I turned him right side out and stuffed him
with filling. Then I sewed closed the body and wing openings and sewed
the wings to the body.
From some scrap burlap, I cut out two more wings/feathers to attach. I
spray painted two safety pins black to attached the extra "feathers"
with.
For the eyes I used black wool with knots tied in the ends and threaded through the head.
I had picked up an old bronze candle stick holders for 50 cents, which I
decided to sit my birdie on. I attached him using my hot glue gun.
Isn't he cute?! I love him. :)
